City at Peace, the only national program using the performing arts for youth empowerment and community change kicked off its 2007 season Tuesday, May 15th, with a four night-run of Univers-All at Teatro Heckscher of El Museo del Barrio, 1230 Fifth Avenue at 104th Street.

A theatrical production and community event unlike any other, the 2007 City at Peace production paints a vivid, poignant picture of life as a teenager in modern-day New York. The musical – Univers-All - written and performed entirely by City at Peace’s 70 young members, tells the true stories of teenage struggles with the loss of a loved one, war, gang violence, molestation, substance abuse, broken homes, the familial immigrant experience, heterosexism, domestic violence, date rape and breaking the cycle of violence. Based on the lives and experiences of the cast, the stories are both eye-opening and inspiring.
