The War of the Unheard

The War of the Unheard was performed at Joe Papp’s Public Theater for an audience of approximately 900 over three nights… and launched City at Peace-New York in NYC.

One of the core outcomes or goals of City at Peace is to develop performing arts excellence in the youth participants. This excellence is evaluated, in part, by asking audience members of all age groups to rate the performance on its quality and the degree to which the show communicates its message.

Responses by audience members aged 13-17 to the question “What did you like about the performance you just saw?”

“The action, the fun and the excitement.”

“It’s reality.”

“Everything. The truth was spoken”

“ Everything, it was truthful”

“How the problems talked about are the problems of everyday life.”

“The acting was amazing. When the audience laughed – the actors and actresses stayed serious.”

“I liked the situation about the sexual harassment.”

“The straightforward and precise way the issues were presented. Then the singing and dancing!”

“It was dealing with REAL problems!”

“Everything was real life issues.”
